Hard To Be - David Bazan

Since his Pedro the Lion days, David Bazan has been enlightening, challenging, and offending people with his music. Since the band's split in 2005, Pedro fans have been sustained by the genius of one man. David Bazan is not for the faint of heart. You may want to be sitting down while listening to this one. He does not shy away from challenging those things you have held onto since you were a child, especially those in the Christian circle. One does not have to read a bio on Bazan to learn about his journey. This track is just one of many that shakes you up a little bit, which we try to avoid sometimes. It is good to listen to music (in moderation) that makes you uncomfortable sometimes.

House of God Forever - Jon Foreman

This seems to be the theme for the moment. I am sure you don't really care (all 2 of you), but Psalm 23 is my girlfriend, Colleen's theme verse for her time studying abroad in Oxford. So, this is just fitting. Also... Shannon, her sister, recently blogged about it. This may not be as unique or "under the radar" as my other posts, but it is a song that is close to my heart. It is incredible to think that Jon Foreman is singing the same words that King David wrote thousands of years ago, but they still have the same power and speak the same truth. enjoy.
